Canada gets a shot to bring home the Cup, as the Ottawa Senators defeated the Buffalo Sabres 3-2 to win the series 4-1.
This blog happily endorses the Senators and hopes they win Lord Stanley's Cup.
Bye bye Dallas Stars. You were beaten by the Vancouver Canucks 4-1 and lost the series 4-3.
The Western Conference is set. The Detroit Red Wings (#1) will play the San Jose Sharks (#4) and the Anaheim Ducks (#2) will play the Canucks (#3). I think the Sharks will beat the Red Wings in seven games and the Ducks will beat the Canucks in five games.
The New Jersey Devils defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2, clinching the first round series 4-2.
The Eastern Conference second round is set. The Buffalo Sabres (#1) will play the New York Rangers (#4). These same Devils (#2) will play the Ottawa Senators (#3). My prediction will be Buffalo in five games and Ottawa in four games. Go Ottawa!
The Nashville Predators lost to the San Jose Sharks 3-2 last night, ending their playoff run.
Buffalo advances to the second round with a 4-3 win over the New York Islanders.
It's too bad they will not play against Ottawa, at least according to this bracket.
My home team, the Minnesota Wild are done.
I think I will go for the Ottawa Senators now. They disposed of the Pittsburgh Penguins last night.
